The City of Ekurhuleni is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Officer (Fleet & Transport) to join the Environmental Resource & Waste Management Department. This permanent position offers a competitive salary range of R417,864 to R573,228 per annum (plus benefits), with applications closing on 24 July 2025. Minimum Requirements:
To be considered, candidates must possess a National Diploma in Public Administration, Logistics, or Transport Management, along with a valid driver’s license. The role requires at least 2 years of administrative or fleet support experience within a municipal context, with a strong understanding of fleet tracking systems, reporting procedures, and workshop coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Administrative Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining fleet efficiency by capturing and logging repair requests, coordinating workshop inspections, and updating the division’s vehicle and equipment register. Your duties will include tracking mileage, service statuses, and depot allocations, while identifying and reporting inconsistencies such as missing vehicles or frequent breakdowns. You’ll compile detailed reports on mechanical failures, decommissioning recommendations, and fleet performance summaries for management review.

The position also involves managing documentation, including accident reports, commissioning checklists, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for depot distribution. You’ll ensure all records are securely archived for audits and communicate maintenance schedules to forepersons and depot managers. Strong organizational skills are essential to maintain accurate logs of fuel usage, incident reports, and compliance with municipal protocols.
