Remuneration and Benefits:
An annual salary of R138,486.00 is offered,plus benefits as per the public service guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
· Qualification: A Grade 10 certificate or an equivalent ABET qualification.
· Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work exposure within a food service environment. Candidates with specific experience in large-scale cooking operations will have a distinct advantage.
· Knowledge: A clear understanding of proper hygiene protocols, cleaning procedures, and safety standards is essential.
· Skills: Good interpersonal and communication abilities, with a proven willingness to work effectively as part of a team.
· Physical Requirements: The role is physically demanding, requiring candidates to be capable of performing tasks of a physical nature.
· Schedule: Must be fully available to work early and late shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
· Attributes: Must be a reliable, trustworthy, and punctual individual.
Key Performance Areas:
The appointed candidate will be responsible for a range of duties within the Food Service Unit to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency.Key responsibilities include operating food service machinery and equipment, and performing comprehensive cleaning tasks. This involves washing pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, cleaning floors, equipment, utensils, drains, grids, fridges, freezer rooms, and storerooms. Further duties encompass sanitizing dustbins and removing waste, assisting with the unpacking and storage of food provisions, and preparing both normal and special diet meals for patients. The role also includes dishing meals according to strict guidelines, assisting with food preparation and decoration for hospital functions, and strictly adhering to all departmental policies. The cleaner will be required to rotate within different areas of the unit and act as a reliever, working flexibly between two shifts as needed.
