Job Purpose
To operate and maintain mining-related machinery and equipment within specified design parameters. The primary objective is to support operational efficiency, minimize waste, and optimize operating costs while upholding the highest standards of safety and reliability.
Key Accountabilities
· Uphold and apply all safety standards and protocols to ensure a zero-harm working environment.
· Execute assigned tasks according to planned schedules and participate actively in daily planning meetings.
· Perform routine plant inspections, identify faults, and conduct necessary repairs to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
· Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and adhere to strict waste disposal procedures.
· Provide clear and timely feedback to supervisors and internal customers on work progress.
· Complete all required My IMS inspections and accurately capture equipment history feedback to inform maintenance renewals and critical spares management.
· Actively engage in toolbox talks, PDAs (Problem Definition Analyses), and RCAs (Root Cause Analyses) to contribute to enhanced plant safety and operational stability.
· Proactively identify personal training needs and participate in development programs to improve competencies.
· Support business goals by meeting deadlines and identifying continuous improvement opportunities within the work area.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
· Formal Education: Completed Matric (Grade 12), N3 certificate, or an equivalent qualification.
· Experience: Prior underground mining experience will be a significant advantage.
· Geographic Mobility: This role is based in Sasolburg. Applicants must be located within or be willing to relocate to the Sasolburg or Secunda geographical areas.
